{"id":2012,"date":"2023-09-22T08:18:11","date_gmt":"2023-09-22T08:18:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sw.umatter.gr\/randolph-hotel-by-graduate-hotels-oxford-uk\/"},"modified":"2023-09-29T09:31:06","modified_gmt":"2023-09-29T09:31:06","slug":"randolph-hotel-by-graduate-hotels-oxford-uk","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sw.umatter.gr\/en-us\/randolph-hotel-by-graduate-hotels-oxford-uk\/","title":{"rendered":"Randolph Hotel by Graduate Hotels, Oxford, UK"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Overview<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This 151 bedroom hotel is in a hard water area and historically had not implemented any solutions to resolve the resulting problems, As a consequence, the water systems were badly scaled up, which was impacting on the operation and running cost of essential pieces of equipment<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Key Problems<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During a site survey and initial inspection, the following areas of concern were raised by the Maintenance Manager:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Dishwashers and ice machine were badly scaled<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Rational steam ovens were badly scaled and required callouts for a full descale every month<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Potential for increased waterborne bacteria, especially Legionella, due to scale build-up throughout the system<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>General housekeeping issues due to limescale such as showerheads, taps and other water fittings which were regularly scaled up<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Waste downpipes on the outside of the building were choked with limescale<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Water Analysis<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A water analysis test carried out in October 2020 gave a result of 221.5mg\/l hardness as CaCO<sub>3<\/sub><\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"454\" src=\"https:\/\/sw.umatter.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/Screenshot-2022-08-29-131903-800x454-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1911\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sw.umatter.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/Screenshot-2022-08-29-131903-800x454-1.png 800w, https:\/\/sw.umatter.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/Screenshot-2022-08-29-131903-800x454-1-300x170.png 300w, https:\/\/sw.umatter.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/Screenshot-2022-08-29-131903-800x454-1-768x436.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Our Solution<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In December 2020, after the site survey and discussion with the Maintenance Manager, an Integro\u2122 4 was installed on the mains water supply covering the cold-water tank and system. In addition, and for extra protection to the hot water system, an Integro\u2122 2 v3 was installed directly before the calorifier.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Results<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Immediately after installation, the Integro<sup>\u2122<\/sup> technology began to remove historical scale build-up as well as preventing further scale from forming. As confirmation of this, the following observational findings were evident within a matter of weeks and have been ongoing:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>No call-outs for Rational to descale the steam ovens (previously this would have been monthly)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Showerheads, taps and other water fittings in the rooms were proving much easier to clean<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The ice machine that was serviced by the Integro\u2122 was free from scale<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Significant decrease in number of Legionella hits<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Water quality was felt to have improved<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dishwashers were keeping free from hard scale build-up<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Waste water downpipes have cleared<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"200\" height=\"267\" src=\"https:\/\/sw.umatter.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/Picture1-200x267-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1916\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Integro\u2122 4 on the mains water supply<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"200\" height=\"267\" src=\"https:\/\/sw.umatter.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/Picture2-200x267-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1921\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Integro\u2122 2 before the calorifier<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Environmental Benefits<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition to the quantifiable savings on energy consumption, labor\/call-out charges, equipment downtime, cleaning and Legionella control, the hotel are also enjoying the following additional benefits:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Improved water quality and efficiency of hot water equipment<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Extended life of all water-related equipment and improved efficiency<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reduction in scale and corrosion to critical equipment, meaning decreased engineer visits and reduction in spare parts which would otherwise carry direct and indirect increases in the hotel\u2019s carbon footprint<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reduced chemical use<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Summary<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since installation in December 2020, the Integro\u2122 technology has been reported to have been working really well throughout the hotel to eliminate existing scale and prevent any further build-up and the hotel are continuing to use the system to great effect.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What the Hotel had to say<\/h2>\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I haven\u2019t had Rational out to descale the steam ovens since we re-opened, we used to have to call them every month to do a full descale so the system is working really well. The dishwashers are also all keeping free from scale. I have noticed a difference in the limescale build up, it\u2019s virtually non-existent since installing the technology.
